The Rest House

Situated in the centre of Bournville Village Green, The Rest House was paid for by the employees of Cadbury Brothers Ltd to commemorate the Silver Wedding Anniversary of George and Elizabeth Cadbury on 19 June 1913. The design of the Rest House is taken from a medieval butter market in Dunster, Somerset and recreated in his own style by architect William Alexander Harvey, as part of the garden village of Bournville.

This year, the Rest House will house Icons & Instigators, an exhibition celebrating 10 women who have helped shape Bournville and the surrounding areas. The exhibition brings together objects from the Roger Cadbury library and archive to highlight the work of women and their impact in the local community.

The Rest House is located in the centre of Bournville village green. The building has level access but uneven floors. The nearest toilets are located at Selly Manor Museum.

This event is part of Bournville Heritage Open Day. For a full list of events in Bournville click here
