St Edburgha’s Church, Yardley

Built between the 13th and 15th centuries the church forms the centrepiece of the old village of Yardley. There is a farm, now converted to residential properties, a blacksmith, cottages and a Tudor School House. Although in a suburb of Birmingham the old village is surrounded by parkland giving it a very rural feel. During works a few years ago a portion of fictive panelling was discovered. While common in residential properties this is only one of two such decorations known in churches. Refreshments will be available including our ever-popular home-made cakes.

Tours of the village (booking advisable 07792 922216) will be available on:
Sat 19 Sept: 11am & 2pm
Sun 20 Sept: 2pm

The tower will be open on Sunday afternoon, weather permitting.
