Marvellous makers

A free craft session where we will explore and express our heritage through crafting and creating, before sharing our creations on our shared Heritage Wall. Bring ideas about Birmingham, the museum and anything else you want to share via craft.

Marvellous Makers runs every Sunday at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. These sessions are perfect for curious minds who want to try something different, hands-on and totally free. Whether you’re building wild sculptures from recycled materials, drawing from real-life taxidermy, creating huge collaborative floor artworks, or making your own wearable badge art – there’s always something new to explore!

These activities are inspired by the galleries and exhibitions you’ll find around the museum – so after you’ve made your masterpiece, go explore what sparked it.

Suitable for all ages. Children must be supervised by an adult. The activity takes place in the Studio on Level 2.

Access information: The lift entrance is on Edmund Street, near the bridge. The activity takes place on Level 2. Turn left as you exit the lift, then turn right. Go past the toilets into the green Wild City gallery and continue going forward into the Pre-Raphaelite galleries. The Studio is located to the left of the first Pre-Raphaelite gallery. Ear defenders are available if you would like a quieter visit.
