A free craft session where you can create a mini Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery out of recycled carboard and craft materials. This will focus on the heritage of BMAG as a building, how you relate to it, how it has changed over the years and how it looks now, with space to get creative and express their ideas about the museum by putting a personal element into the model.
Marvellous Makers runs every Sunday at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. These sessions are perfect for curious minds who want to try something different, hands-on and totally free. Whether you’re building wild sculptures from recycled materials, drawing from real-life taxidermy, creating huge collaborative floor artworks, or making your own wearable badge art – there’s always something new to explore!
These activities are inspired by the galleries and exhibitions you’ll find around the museum – so after you’ve made your masterpiece, go explore what sparked it.
Suitable for all ages. Children must be supervised by an adult. The activity takes place in the Studio on Level 2.
