Over the weekend you will be able to explore the history of the Lickey Hills. There will also be children’s activities.

– How the Country Park and Cofton Park came about

– A model of the WW1 Bilberry Hill Gun Proof Range
– The 1840 tithe map of the local area and other maps from our collection… and much more!
Bilberry Hill Gun Proof Range
This is ‘hidden’ in the Warren Lane Quarry and normally closed to visitors. The Quarry will be accessible, and guides will show you the WW1 Bilberry Hill Gun Proof Range & explain the site’s geology.
Guided walks
– The Lickey Hills in the First and Second World War – Sat 19 Sept, 11.30am- 1pm and Sun 20 Sept 1.30pm-3.pm.
– ‘A walk through time’ – all about Lickey Geology – Sun 20 Sept, 11am-12.30pm
The walks are outdoors within the Country Park, so expect uneven ground, tree roots, mud and slopes. Please wear suitable clothes and footwear – it really can be muddy! Both walks last around 1½ – 2 hours.
