Harborne Heritage Walking Tour

We will start on Tennal Lane and learn more about the nail making community of Chamomile Green. Sir Francis Aston won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1922 and was born in this area. We will learn more about his early life in Harborne. There will be a gentle walk then to our next stop in a beautiful part of Harborne. Then onto a nearby park to uncover its secrets. We will finish the tour by discovering a Harborne landmark on the High Street with a fascinating history. The distance of the tour will be approximately 1.3 miles.

The tour will be led by James Burgess, proud Harbornite and chair of the Birmingham History Society.

We would recommend to wearing suitable footwear for walking. Please inform the guide lead before the tour of any medical condition that may affect participation.
