Come and see how the Library of Birmingham looks after some of Birmingham’s biggest treasures including Shakespeare’s First Folio, James Watt’s archive and significant photography collections. We will start off by seeing objects from the collections in a pop-up exhibition. Visitors will explore our state-of-the-art storage areas and learn about the preventative conservation measures put in place to preserve all the archives and special collections for many generations to come!
This event does involve walking and climbing some stairs, sensible shoes are a must. Over 18s only. No dogs allowed. No food/drink allowed.

Please note that due to the hypoxic environment (Oxygen levels are between 14.3 – 16% in the storage areas) all visitors will be asked to sign a health and safety form prior to the event. Unfortunately, visitors who have severe heart, lung or blood conditions or who are pregnant will not be allowed to enter the stores due to the hypoxic environment/ health and safety.
