Your tour guide will take you on a journey to discover those who are buried and remembered in Warstone Lane Cemetery. Learn about artists, musicians, and entrepreneurs. Hear tragic stories, and how the cemetery connects to significant events in the wider world. This evocative evening will end with a visit to the beautiful two-tier catacombs.
Dating back to 1847 the cemetery is grade II listed. Created by Anglican businessmen, Warstone Lane is one of two cemeteries in the Jewellery Quarter.
There are uneven surfaces in the cemetery which may not be suitable for all abilities. Please dress for the weather, including sturdy footwear. The event will take place outside and will only be cancelled by the guide in the event of extreme weather conditions, where there is a risk to people’s safety. The cemetery is wheelchair accessible from the Vyse Street entrance, however, the tours are not wheelchair accessible due to uneven surfaces and steps. There is no toilet on site. We ask everyone to keep to the paths unless otherwise instructed by the tour guide. In accordance with the rules of Birmingham City Council the only dogs permitted in the cemetery are assistance dogs.
