As Kings Heath Station welcomes passengers once again, join us for A Thousand Journeys to Highbury, a family-friendly celebration of travel, movement and arrival inspired by the many ways people have reached Highbury Hall over the last 150 years.
Visitors are invited to make the short journey from Kings Heath Station to Highbury Hall by walking, cycling, using mobility aids or other forms of transport enjoying a programme of heritage activities along the way. Discover historic bicycles, estate equipment and stories from the Chamberlain family, take part in guided walks and family activities, meet organisations promoting active travel, and explore how people, plants, ideas and objects have travelled to Highbury from around the world. A special highlight will be ‘Cycling The Score’ – Birmingham Contemporary Music Group’s bicycle-powered concert tour. Highbury Hall will also be open for guided tours on the day.
You can book tickets for tours, talks, cycle rides and other events in advance of your visit (see booking link below) or book on the day, but some timeslots may be fully booked.
Visitors are encouraged to wear suitable footwear for walking around the park and gardens. Arrival by active travel and public transport is expected, there are a few accessible parking spaces at Highbury Hall and absolutely no parking at Kings Heath Train Station. We aim for this event to be as accessible as possible but in wet weather some of our paths are less accessible.
There will be food and drink available to buy at Highbury. Toilets also available at Highbury Hall
