York Supplies – 76 Years Not Out!
York Supplies hardware and gardening shop is Kings Heath’s oldest retail business. On the cusp of a buyout by the local community to become York Supplies Community Co-op, this event will include images and memories of the last 76 years and a facilitated “in conversation with” John Russell, son of one of the founders of the business, and Jon Jaffa who has owned it since 1986.
The venue of the Kitchen Garden Café is particularly evocative as it is where York Supplies began in 1947 and traded for many years as well as being one of the oldest buildings in the district having started life as the stables for the manor house.
Refreshments will be available to purchase.
