What did the Romans do for Sutton?
In addition to the well-preserved Roman road in Sutton Park, many more remains of Roman and even older times have been found around Sutton Coldfield. This illustrated talk by local archaeologist Dr Mike Hodder will describe the objects, structures and landscape of prehistoric hunters and farmers, and Roman soldiers, farmers and potters. How did people in the distant past influence the area’s subsequent history, and what can you still see today?
