Join us for a fun-filled day at Birmingham Museums’ Museum Collection Centre, where over 80% of the City’s collection are all held under one roof. Come and take part in a day of family-friendly activities, where we will be celebrating Birmingham’s history through in our artefact-packed warehouse. Have a chance to take part in:
– Guided talks
– Meeting members of the conservation and curatorial teams
– See hidden objects unboxed
– Photographing some of the collection.
Explore a contrasting mix of objects, many of which offer a real insight into life in Birmingham and the West Midlands over the centuries. Amongst the objects you will see steam engines, sculptures, giant spider crabs, even the kitchen sink. If you are interested in something, you’ll find it at the Museum Collection Centre.
A free vintage bus service courtesy of Aldrige Transport Museum will run all day bringing guests to-and-from Birmingham centre and the MCC (see our facebook and instagram for the schedule nearer to the date).
There are additional costs for our Natural Sciences tour with Natural Sciences Curator Lukas Large – £3.50 per person (time slotted tickets 10:30, 11:30,13:30,14:30 – tickets will be available online when you purchase your event ticket, max of 20 per time slot).
