The Jewellery Quarter’s global influence in jewellery making was recognised by UNESCO in 2025 when the quarter was awarded World Craft City Status. This award recognises the rich heritage of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and celebrates the skilled artisans and creative designers who are continuing a 200 year tradition of making while also innovating the jewellery industry and keeping the jewellery manufacturing in the quarter alive.

This is an opportunity to see an exhibition showcasing graduate collections from the MA Jewellery & Related Products class of 2026. This work represents the culmination of a 12-month programme working within a practice research framework, where students create objects that both pose and respond to questions of themselves, our society and the broader discipline. The work reflects a diverse range of approaches, combining traditional materials and heritage methods of fabrication with digital, contemporary and cross-disciplinary techniques and mediums. Through individual explorations students critique the role of jewellery, challenging the boundaries of materials and processes. The exhibition includes the work of 20 students. Visitors are welcome to view the exhibition at their own pace. We suggest a viewing time of 45 minutes to an hour to engage with the exhibition in detail. The exhibition will be invigilated, with students on hand to assist in viewing as well as to answer questions about the artwork and its interpretation.
