Led Walk – Moseley Bog & Sarehole Mill
Explore local heritage by foot.
Ecobirmingham have recently launched their ’69 wards by bike or foot, a collection of collection of 13 online maps highlighting cycling and walking friendly routes, greenspaces and places to visit across the City. On this led walk you will get a taster of ‘Route 9’ as we take a lovely stroll from Sarehole Mill exploring local green spaces and Moseley Bog.
On our return, we will visit Sarehole Mill, the beautiful grounds and café, one of the places famous author J.R.R Tolkien spent lots of time a child and sited as inspiration for his writings, including ‘The Hobbit’ and’ Lord of the Rings’. There will be an opportunity to buy refreshments and enjoy the surroundings over coffee and cake.
Come along and discover a beautiful route and learn about some of Birmingham’s hidden heritage sites along the way.
Leaving promptly at 9.30am. The route will be approx. 2 miles round trip. Starting/finishing at Sarehole Mill. This will be a relaxed social walk suitable for all the family.
How to get there
Sarehole Mill is very accessible by bike or foot.
Use bus Number 5 or Number 11A / 11C, Hall Green station is only a 10 min walk. Bike parking also available or if required there is a small car park with limited spaces. We recommend walking, cycling, or using public transport if possible.
