Lapworth Museum of Geology: Campus Geowalk

The Lapworth Museum of Geology is one of the oldest geology museums in the UK. Established in 1880, the Museum holds over 300,000 objects. This Birmingham Heritage Week, we invite you to see the University campus very differently and explore geological features hidden in plain sight. The 90 minute walk will begin at the Museum entrance. Toilet stops are provided throughout, and refreshments will be available at the end of the tour.

How to get there
Visitors are encouraged to arrive by public transport. The University (Birmingham) railway station is a 5 minute walk from the Museum and start point. Visitors may park outside the Museum, but parking spaces are limited. There is a large multi-storey car park on campus also called The North East Car Park, around 10-15 minute walk from the Museum.
