Historical Fiction Workshop
Join novelist Carolyn Kirby (The Conviction of Cora Burns, When We Fall) for a historical fiction writing workshop. Using the unique backdrop of these historic working-class homes, the two-hour session will help you explore place as an inspiration for your writing. Through discussion and writing exercises, Carolyn will explore the use of imagination to put yourself inside the physical world of your characters and bring the past alive. The workshop will also show how research can be a stimulus to creating stories set in the past. This workshop is suitable for those new to writing fiction as well as writers with a work in progress. Please bring along your own writing materials.
