Fleet Street Tour

Back for Birmingham Heritage Week 2026, join us for a curious look at one of Birmingham’s streets. Who knew this quiet little backstreet had such a story to tell? Think back-to-back housing, industrial giants, and even Cold War secrets – all packed into one unassuming corner of the city.

This unique walking tour reveals the hidden heritage of Fleet Street and the surrounding roads, reflecting the incredible story of Birmingham – the city of a thousand trades. Starting at the Coffin Works, we’ll take a gentle outdoor stroll around the nearby Jewellery Quarter streets unearthing the remarkable tales behind streets that many of us walk down without a second thought.

The tour lasts around 45 minutes to an hour, and while it doesn’t include entry into the Coffin Works Museum itself, you’re welcome to visit the museum afterwards with general admission. Our café will be open for refreshments on the day – perfect for pre or post-tour coffee and cake!

Places on the tour are limited, so we recommend booking in advance to secure your spot.

What to expect: Headset for clear audio throughout – Tours will go ahead in all but the worst weather – Please wear sensible shoes and dress for the outdoors – Wheelchair users welcome – please note that the walk includes sections along the canal and over cobbled surfaces, which may be uneven in places.
