Join the Friends of Moseley Road Baths for an insight into a major £35.7m heritage restoration project in the heart of Balsall Heath, Birmingham. Diving In will see the restoration of two civic buildings including the GII* Moseley Road Baths, as well as Balsall Heath Library. These beautiful spaces will be reimagined over the next three years, restoring swimming to the iconic Gala Pool, adding a mezzanine floor to the library and creating health, wellbeing and leisure activities, and much more besides. We will share an insight into the historical past of the buildings, while exploring how such places are being restored into the modern era.

This is a hard hat tour of the construction site. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided on the day of your visit. Please note the venue is a live construction site with many uneven surfaces, staircases and narrow corridors. Toilets are available on site. All members of the public must be supervised at all times. Not suitable for those with fear of heights or children under the age of 16. Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time to allow for entry and to collect your PPE issue. The tour will last 1 hour, with 15 minutes to change shoes and apply PPE which will be provided. Access to Moseley Road Baths construction site is off Edward Road. Please arrive at the entrance of the construction compound (just outside the turnstile gate), where you will be met by a member of the project team.  

How to get there:
There is on road car parking along Edward Road, although this is busy. There is no designated car park for the site. Buses: Number 50 & 50A stop near the construction site, signposted ‘Moseley Road Baths’ (2 minutes walk). Train Station: Moseley Village (20 minutes walk). Bicycle: there is no designated bicycle store.
