Founded in 1921 to work alongside the City of Birmingham Orchestra (now CBSO), the City of Birmingham Choir is still performing regularly with the CBSO. We have learned from eminent conductors such as Sir David Willcocks and Christopher Robinson, as well as our current conductor since 2002, Adrian Lucas. Our proud 125-year history will be on display with books, photos and press cuttings.
This is an opportunity to sing with, or listen to, the prestigious City Choir in rehearsal.
SATB singers over the age of 16 who read music are welcome to come and learn from a maestro or if you just want to know what goes on behind the scenes, do come and listen. The evening will start with a brief introduction to the long history of the Choir and there will be a refreshment break in the middle with a chance to chat to members of this friendly Choir.
