Birmingham’s Public Art Walking Tour
Birmingham has amazing public art. Come and explore just a little of what you can see on the city centre streets today. The tour is conducted by Jonathan Berg, whose book Birmingham’s Public Art is to be published in November 2023. Jonathan believes a walking tour should be fun, educational, memorable, and inclusive – so expect to be entertained.
A fun and engaging tour considering the public art around the central area of the city. We will get to understand how Birmingham has managed to have the largest collection of public art of any provincial city. We see works by major artists on the world stage. Sometimes we see and get to understand artworks that we walk past and have never noticed before.
Tour: A 3.5 km walk which includes key parts of the city centre.
Start: Outside St Martin’s Church, Bullring Shopping Centre.
Finish: Library of Birmingham, Centenary Square
Additional: We use a live audio system so you can hear every word. Please bring a pair of headphones with a 3.5 mm jack (if not we provide a new pair for you for a donation to our charity).
An eTicket: Is sent to you sometime after your automated booking receipt, with joining instructions. You do not need to print it off. If you are booking close to the start time, just come to the meeting point for the tour.
Sifa Fireside: We donate part of our turnover and any donations at tour end to Sifa Fireside, a Birmingham charity which works on issues of homelessness in our city.
For Birmingham Heritage Week this tour is offered at a reduced price.
