Birmingham’s Dark Side Walking Tour
Discounted for Heritage week, Birmingham’s Dark Side tour is a creepy evening walking tour exploring the ghoulish history of the city. Graveyards, murders, ghost stories, a hanging, body snatching, a curse, a restless corpse and the mystery of Birmingham’s own ‘sublime vampire’. This tour also explores grimier elements of the 19th century city. An atmospheric walk not for the faint-hearted.
The tour is around 1.75 miles and lasts an hour and 45 mins, there are steps but it’s otherwise suitable for those of average fitness. Please wear sensible footwear as some surfaces might be slippy. The nature of the stories means this tour is not suitable for younger children or those of a sensitive disposition. There are no actors hired to jump out at you – anything you experience on this tour will be completely genuine!
The tour begins in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and ends in Victoria Square in the city centre. We meet outside the Jewellery Quarter train station/Metro stop on Vyse Street – one stop on the train from Snow Hill station (two from Moor St station) or just a few stops on the Metro from one of the many city centre stops.
