Birmingham Chinatown Heritage Tour with Food

Celebrate Birmingham Heritage Week with a guided evening tour exploring the history, culture and flavours of Birmingham’s Chinatown.

Led by Stewart Sherman-Kahn of Birmingham Chinatown Lions Club, this 90-minute walking tour will uncover the fascinating story of how Chinatown has evolved into one of Birmingham’s most vibrant cultural destinations. Along the way, you’ll visit key locations and learn about the area’s heritage, community and traditions.

Guests will also enjoy a selection of simple Chinese street food and drinks, with opportunities to watch live demonstrations of traditional hand-pulled noodle making and dumpling making.

The tour is suitable for adults and older children who are comfortable walking at a gentle pace. Please wear comfortable footwear and dress appropriately for the weather, as the tour takes place outdoors. Due to the nature of the food provided, we are unable to accommodate dietary requirements or allergies.

Advance booking is required. Tickets are £20 per person, including all food and drinks to be sampled during the tour.

How to get there:
The tour starts outside Southside Building, 31 Hurst Street, Birmingham B5 4BD, in the heart of Birmingham Chinatown. The location is a short walk from Birmingham New Street Station and is served by numerous bus routes. There are several city centre car parks within walking distance, including the Arcadian Car Park and Car Park Chinatown-Birmingham.
