Acocks Green Heritage Tour
This walk will be looking at the earliest history of Acocks Green, at local religious history, and especially at the street scene, including the buildings, transport changes, and the creation of The Green in the 1930s. At the end of the walk there will be an opportunity to visit St Mary’s church, enjoy refreshments and view the spectacular reredos.
The walk follows Boards One to Five of the eight boards that make up the Acocks Green Heritage Trail. Following the visit to the church, you may feel you wish to see Boards Six and Seven, which are a few minutes’ walk away, but Board Eight at Fox Hollies is best visited by car afterwards.
We meet on the pavement in front of Aldi on the Warwick Road. Please do not park in Aldi’s car park, a better option is Dolphin Lane. Toilets will be available at the end of the walk at St Mary’s Church.
This is a free event with limited capacity. If you have booked but find you can no longer make it, please cancel your event on Eventbrite or email us. We will then pass on your ticket to someone else.
