21 Yateley Road, Edgbaston, house & garden tour

Visit this Grade I Arts & Crafts house and garden, designed in 1899 by architect Herbert Tudor Buckland as his own family home. The remarkably intact interior includes interesting plasterwork, stained glass and beaten copper. Enjoy a tour of the only really well-preserved Arts & Crafts house in Birmingham with current owners Helen and Paul, only the third family to live here. Includes tea/coffee and biscuits.

The house has three stories, and the upper flight of stairs is steeper than that to the first floor. Toilets are on the first floor via fifteen steps. The garden is in a steep-sided gravel pit with numerous steps and steep paths on two sides. The grassed area is accessed via one step down and five uneven steps up.
