Warstone Lane and Key Hill Cemeteries
The friends of Key Hill Cemetery and Warstone Lane Cemetery invite you to join a guided tour. They will also provide info about ancestors’ graves.
Come and take a free taster tour of one or both cemeteries and learn about the prominent people who rest who rest in these two historic cemeteries . Including Joseph Chamberlain, Alfred Bird, Major Thomas “Harry “Gem, Constance Naden , Harriet Martineau, Joseph Tangye, John Baskerville, William Chance, Joseph Gilliott, Dr Pye Chavasse, John Postgate and Private James Cooper.
The Friends formed in 2004 and are the only group who maintain the cemeteries. The Friends raise funds for the restoration of the headstones. This is achieved by Sunday Tours (second Sunday in the month ) Membership of the Friends, Sales and Donations. The Friends hold regular Clean up Days. Volunteers are always welcome.
Programme for 21 September
• 10.30am – 3.30pm – Information stall – assisting the public with section and plot number of their ancestor’s grave aiding their family history
• 11am – Free taster tour of Warstone Lane Cemetery, meet at information stall
• 2pm – Free taster tour of Key Hill Cemetery, meet at information stall
