Lunar Links: Discover the Lunar Society in Handsworth

This walk in Handsworth uncovers key sites with links to the Lunar Society.

As part of Birmingham Heritage Week 2019, discover the hidden history of the Lunar Society around the Handsworth area. 

The Lunar Society, who helped to lay the foundations of the Industrial Revolution, met regularly at Soho House, but what other places in Handsworth can help to uncover the Lunar Society’s story?  This walk uncovers other key sites with links to this world famous group, including St Mary’s Church, James Watt’s Gatehouse, and the site of the Soho Manufactory. This lively walk explores the fascinating stories of key members of the Midlands Enlightenment who helped to forge our modern world.
