Watt’s next? Birmingham past and Birmingham future
This study day will investigate how Birmingham’s past has impacted on the city we live in today. Has Birmingham fully explored its links to slavery and Empire? In a city that has been shaped by migration, does its heritage properly promote and celebrate these stories? This study day will give an opportunity to explore these questions.
The day will include different speakers and a special tour of Soho House, currently not open to the public, which will focus on different Lunar Society members relationship with slavery in the eighteenth century. There will also be opportunities for discussion and lunch and refreshments will be included in the day.
