From Canals and Victorians to today’s city
Come and understand more about this amazing city in an informative and fun tour, led by Jonathan Berg, author of Positively Birmingham. We consider the industrial growth in Georgian times and the coming of the canals. Then on to the Victorians, where the town developed as a world producer and had to cope with the social issues of huge success. Moving into the 20th Century consider the best of our brutalist concrete architecture, and the way the city is moving forward. Birmingham is a truly multi-cultural city and we include an honest discussion on the major roles of Birmingham in the slave trade.
