Canals and Victorians to today’s city
This guided walk will look at the coming of the canals, Birmingham’s industrial Georgian pioneers and our Victorian heritage. A story of civic pride 130 years after becoming a city.
Attention will also be given to more recent architecture and developments evident in the major city squares that we visit. The tour is based loosely on the book Positively Birmingham which can be purchased in the Library of Birmingham foyer shop at the end of the tour at the special price of £12.50 (RRP £20).
Tours may use an audio system and if so you can bring your own earphones or purchase a pair for £1 at the start of the tour.
This walk is organised by Positively Birmingham who support Sifa Fireside, a Birmingham based charity providing support and services to homeless adults in Birmingham.
