Moseley Road Baths
Take a view behind the scenes of this unique building, Moseley Road Baths, which has served the community of Balsall Heath for almost 114 years.
One of the most marvellous public swimming pools in the country: Edwardian, Grade II* listed, now being run by a community trust, and in the process of restoration by a coalition which includes the National Trust, Historic England, Birmingham City Council, and the World Monuments Fund.
The tour, led by members of the Friends of Moseley Road Baths, will take in the ‘slipper baths’, laundry room, boiler room and the magnificent Gala Pool. Bring a camera and your curiosity and enjoy stories from the Friends of Moseley Road Baths’ ‘Pool of Memories’ oral history project, learn about plans for the building’s future and immerse yourself in the Edwardian splendour of this ‘Palace for People’.
