Panel Discussion: The Future of Heritage & the JQ Neighbourhood Plan
How might the built heritage of the Jewellery Quarter be part of our future? How will the JQ Neighbourhood plan affect it? Let’s discuss! Join us for a panel discussion on the future of the JQ’s built heritage and how the proposed Jewellery Quarter Neighbourhood Plan will affect it. Receive a FREE pin badge for attending! Hosted at the Hive Community Hub, a renovated former jewellery factory, in partnership with Birmingham Conservation Trust.
A live audience is what makes a panel discussion work! We want to offer the chance for a small number of guests to attend in person. Attendees will receive complimentary refreshments and an exclusive “Made In The JQ” pin badge as a thank you. All visitors must wear face masks and adhere to social distancing. This event will also be live-streamed for anyone to view. Please book an online ticket to receive links to the event streaming.
The Jewellery Quarter has over 200 listed buildings ranging from Georgian townhouses to Edwardian factories. How might these buildings be re-imagined and preserved as part of Birmingham’s rapid urban development?
In response to the development of the area, the JQ community have created the JQ Neighbourhood Plan produced by ordinary people who work and live in the Jewellery Quarter. This document, currently in its public consultation phase, aims to make the JQ a successful community of businesses and residents while fostering a creative approach to its conservation and development.
