Background
The Jewellery Quarter has over 200 listed buildings ranging from Georgian townhouses to Edwardian factories. How might these buildings be re-imagined and preserved as part of Birmingham’s rapid urban development?
In response to the development of the area, the JQ community have created the JQ Neighbourhood Plan produced by ordinary people who work and live in the Jewellery Quarter. This document, currently in its public consultation phase, aims to make the JQ a successful community of businesses and residents while fostering a creative approach to its conservation and development.
