Canals and Victorians to today’s city

We look at early development right up to the present day. From industrial growth in Georgian times, the coming of the canals, then on to Victorian times where the town developed as a world producer of metal goods but also had to cope with issues of huge success. Moving into the 20th Century the Brutalist concrete architecture and today the way the city is moving forward. The Black Lives Matter campaign has had a focus in Birmingham – a truly multi-cultural city. We include an honest discussion on the major roles of Birmingham in the slave trade – things that many do not fully appreciate and which now deserve our consideration.

Keeping Coronavirus safe:  Tour numbers limited to current Government guidelines and with live audio units to enable social distancing plus. We work to the UK Government guidelines for tourism related industries. We use a live audio system which means we can spread apart on tour. We have decided to maintain a 2-metre guideline for social distancing unless you are part of the same family group.
