Joint Tour of Coffin Works and Roundhouse
The Roundhouse, 101 St Vincent St, Birmingham B16 8EB
Exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of the Roundhouse, followed by a visit to the award-winning Coffin Works’ Museum in Birmingham! The tours have been arranged in partnership between Roundhouse Birmingham and the Coffin Works.
Built as stables and storehouses for Birmingham’s busy Victorian industry, the Roundhouse is special for its curvy design, its story and its staying power. Please note the Roundhouse is currently in a pre-restoration state, with basic facilities and cobbled surfaces on site. Please wrap up warm, and wear sensible shoes for your visit.
The Coffin Works tells the story of Newman Brothers, Birmingham’s last coffin-furniture factory who operated from their Fleet Street premises for over 100 years until 1998 when workers laid down their equipment, and walked out of the building for the very last time, leaving everything behind. Step back in time to experience this important piece of Birmingham’s industrial legacy.
