The Ladywood Landmarks Map Launch is the culmination of a summer arts project involving young people from Spring Housing Association, Ruskin Mill Land Trust and Re. Future Collective. Our young people have spent the summer exploring heritage spaces and places in and around Ladywood and the Jewellery Quarter.
From the New Standard Works to the Icknield Port Loop, young people have photographed, drawn and printed fantastic architecture and objects of interest. They have plotted their favourite places onto a map to create heritage-filled walking routes for you to enjoy.
The map is entirely unique and allows you to discover local landmarks from a new point of view, and hopefully add some of your own!
The launch event will show a selection of original artworks created by the young people over the course of the project and there will be maps available for you to take away and use at your leisure. Self-guided maps also available to pick up at other times during Birmingham Heritage Week from The Hive Heritage Hub, The Roundhouse, Coffin Works, Spring Hill Library and Ladywood Health & Community Centre.
With thanks to Heritage Lottery Fund, The Roundhouse, Coffin Works, Birmingham Parks Rangers Service and Perrott’s Folly for their support.
No booking required.
