In 1977, Birmingham Friends of the Earth moved into “The Warehouse” a semi-derelict building on Allison Street. Over the ensuing four decades we have nurtured a range of campaigns groups, social enteprises and community projects and seen environmental issues move from the margins to the mainstream of public and private life.
Following an eco-renovation of the building last year, funded by a Community Share Issue, we would like to share the results of our Heritage Lottery Fund project, telling our story and the stories of the people and groups who have shaped our history. We would also like to inspire other people with how a heritage building can be repurposed for the future of the local community and the planet.
Building tours at 11.30pm, 1.30pm and 3.30pm
No booking required.
